Have just been speaking at the inauguration of a strategic alliance between FHC Experts4Law (www.forensic-healthcare.com) and the Legal Resources Centre in Nicosia, Cyprus (http://www.legalresourcescentre.com).  This was attended by the British High Commissioner, Matthew Kidd who spoke and Christodoulos Vassiliades, Managing Director of Christodoulos G Vassiliades & Co. who are affiliated with and have supported the initiative.   The aim is to collaborate in the provision of expertise and training with a transfer of ideas within the legal and forensic setting.  Peter Pafitis – Director of the LRC  who developed the alliance with Judy Payne-James of FHC welcomed approximately 200 guests from a variety of backgrounds including law, forensic science and politics.

Back home, defence team got an acquittal using an automatism defence (related to prescribed drug use) in a shoplifting case. Attended in Bruxelles the  expert group assisting  the European Commission with an in-depth review of Council Regulation (EC) No 1236/2005 concerning the trade in certain goods which could be used for capital punishment, torture, or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.  Next week travel to Toronto for second meeting of the Council of Canadian Academies Expert Panel on the Medical & Physiological Impacts of Conducted Energy Weapons, and prior to that on duty as Forensic Medical Examiner in London and an attempt murder (strangulation) case for the Crown.
